A picture I took of Dad at Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado, in 2008.

A portrait of Dad that I drew thanking him for the 400 mile ride we went on that day.

I have not posted for awhile. I have no excuse except that my heart is truly broken. My father and best friend passed away unexpectedly on January 16, 2010. As most of you know, I drew my father often. After the funeral, while digging around through his past and all the secret treasures he stored away, I came across the bottom drawing I did when I was eight years old. So it goes to show that I started drawing him and things for him since I was young. He was and is truly an inspiration to me and many others. Many may have judged his outer exterior as being a rough and tough biker, but if you truly knew him you knew he had a gentle soul. He was a great Dad, Son, Brother, Friend, but most of all, Papa. He will truly be missed by many. But he left a little bit of himself on all that knew him. He will definitely never be forgotten. And most of all, I will never stop drawing for him.

So sorry to hear, Starr. My sympathy for your loss. My dad's been gone four years to the month and I'm still thinking of him often, but more with pride than sorrow now. Hope the healing progresses.
Starr I am so sorry for your loss - I lost my Dad in 2004. I still get overwhelmed with sadness sometimes - & I still miss him every day -
